Finding the path that works for you
When people keep trying the same approaches, they generally get the same results. This is a big part of why I often utilize less conventional approaches, to help you get the results that you really want, which you may not have gotten in previous therapeutic experiences. I treat a range of mental health issues- including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, trauma, developmental disorders (e.g., ADHD, autism), and personality disorders- but, above all, I always treat you as an individual, not as your diagnoses. I have unique qualifications working with individuals in mid-life transition, particularly those with career issues.
Instead of CBT, I typically use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, a fun mindfulness-based approach, complemented with DBT skills. For trauma, I utilize Prolonged Exposure and Narrative Exposure Therapy, along with Internal Family Systems and Schema Therapy to build insight and promote healing. Together, we will find an approach tailored to your needs.
You will not only take away useful skills and insights, but also a sense that therapy is going somewhere. You will feel you are on the road to recovery. Equally importantly, you will feel that I have heard you and care about your challenges. You will know you are a full collaborator in in your therapy.
